Why Colorado is switching
Hang them once. Done forever.
Permanent lights live in a slim track under your eaves. Nearly invisible by day, anything you want by night.
holiday decorating injuries a day
That's the federal estimate during the holiday season, and nearly half are falls. In the 2023 season, about 14,900 people ended up in the ER from decorating.
per foot, installed, one time
Most permanent systems land in this range, including the track, lights, controller and install. No more buying strands, clips and timers every November.

The real math
What it costs, honestly.

Typical installed range is $18 to $35 per foot depending on the system and how complex your roofline is. Your quote is based on your actual home.
Hired install uses Denver's average of about $306 per season (Angi), and only covers the holidays. Permanent lights work every night of the year.

Colorado questions
Straight answers.
Do they hold up to Colorado snow, cold and sun?
Permanent systems are built for outdoor use year round, with sealed LEDs mounted in a track under your eaves where they're sheltered from most snow and direct sun. Ask any installer for the product's outdoor rating and cold weather specs in writing.
Can you see them during the day?
Barely. The track is low profile and is usually color matched to your trim or fascia, so most neighbors won't notice it until the lights come on.
What about my HOA?
Many HOAs approve permanent lighting because it looks cleaner than seasonal strands, but rules vary. Check your covenants first. We'll give you product photos and specs to include with your request.
How much do they cost to run?
They're LEDs, so they use far less power than old incandescent strands. Your exact cost depends on how long you run them and your rate. The app lets you schedule them to come on at sunset and go off when you want.
How long do they last, and what's the warranty?
Many systems rate their LEDs at 30,000 to 50,000+ hours. Warranties vary by brand, often around 5 years on parts when professionally installed. Get the parts and labor terms in writing before you sign.
When should I book?
Fall is the busiest season for installs, and many dealers offer better pricing off season. If you want lights for Thanksgiving or Christmas, book early.
